GC Summit 2007

On March 2, 2007, members of the Bay Area Game community gathered in Palo Alto for the first "Game Control Summit," to share their experiences of running The Game and similar puzzle hunt events.

Game Logistics: Then and Now

(35 min.) Linda from Team Scoobie Doobies compared aspects of running The Game that have changed over the years. The Scoobie Doobies have been involved in Stanford Games since 1990. They formed Just Passing Through, LLC, in 2002, and started running Shinteki events in 2004.


Immersion vs. Puzzles

(20 min.) Rachel, Captain of Team XX-Rated, discussed the different roles that puzzles, activities, and immersive components can play in an event, and how to balance all three. XX-Rated played their first Stanford Games in 2004, and ran the Paparazzi Game in 2006.

Clues

(32 min.) Curtis, Captain of Team Snout, talked about how one GC goes about turning crazy ideas into actual, fun puzzles. Team Snout has been playing Stanford Games since 1996, and ran their first Game in 2001. Since then, they've run three more Games, including Hogwarts and the Draconian Prophecy in 2006.
